Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reported on 27 October that about 547,000 households had net wealth of at least €1 million on 1 January 2025, representing 6.6% of households. The provisional total was about 81,000 higher than a year earlier.
The calculation includes the value of owner-occupied homes and mortgage debt. CBS attributes the increase mainly to rising house prices. These statistics describe wealth at a past reference date; the dates when individual households reached the threshold are not established.
